# 13.3 — Sin #2: Niching by Vague Pain

People say things like:

- “I help people manage overwhelm.”
- “I help high achievers reduce stress.”
- “I help you reach your potential.”
- “I help leaders improve performance.”
- “I help professionals increase clarity.”

These sentences sound good.
But they don’t mean anything.

Why?

Because the brain does NOT recognise generic pain.

The brain recognises:

- the FIFO worker hitting the Thursday crash
- the new dad spiralling at 3am after two weeks of broken sleep
- the SaaS engineer who can’t switch off after coding at midnight
- the mortgage broker drowning in dogshit leads
- the Perth teacher crying in her car between classes
- the HYROX athlete who keeps redlining and waking up sore

**Vague pain → low P(outcome).
Low P(outcome) → scroll.**

This sin kills niches daily.
